Less than 70 miles from New York City, a jet charter airport in Orange County is located in the Hudson Valley. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the many historical, entertainment and recreational activities in the area.
History buffs will rejoice at the rich historical significance of Orange County. The area has been welcoming visitors since the seventeenth century, when Henry Hudson first arrived in Cornwall Bay. Since then, Orange County has continued to be a place of historical significance, and earned its title of America’s first Registered National Historic Landmark. Dozens of museums, battle reenactments and lively festivals bring the events of the past four hundred years to life.
Outdoor enthusiasts will celebrate knowing that there is something available to them year-round in Orange County. During the winter, ski the family-friendly hills of Mount Peter or cut across the ice on a half dozen available ice rinks. Warmer weather lets visitors get on paddle boards on Greenwood Lake, or canoes on the Delaware River. Check out a 35-mile section of the Appalachian Trail with views of Greenwood Lake.
Orange County offers visitors unique cultural experiences through its many art galleries, museums and sculpture parks. The Storm King Art Center is spread out over 500 acres and home to over 100 sculptures.
