Hoquiam is located on Grays Harbor off of North Bay, sheltered from the Pacific Ocean by a pair of peninsulas. Bordered immediately to the east with the city of Aberdeen, the cities share a long, shared economic history while maintaining their civic independence.
A long-time lumber town, Hoquiam’s history can be explored at the Polson Museum. The extensive photography collection preserves the harbor’s past while the old locomotive and recreated living areas give visitors a hands-on experience.
There is always a celebration going on in Hoquiam. Watch the community come together during August’s National Night Out, where neighborhoods put on block parties and the city organizes festivals and parades. A proud Tree City USA recipient, Hoquiam puts on a boisterous Arbor Day celebration. One of the biggest draws of the year is the Shorebird Festival each May. With hundreds of thousands of shorebirds stopping to feed and rest during their migration, bird watchers will be in awe at the number of species that stop by.
While there are many restaurants in town, a special place to stop for a meal is the Grays Habor Public Market. One of only two year-round farmers markets in Washington, the local market offers fine arts, savory chowder, fresh seafood and local produce.
By using a jet charter airport in Hoquiam visitors land at coastal Washington’s only jet-capable airport. This gives travelers the flexibility to choose the kind of aircraft that meets their travel needs, without worrying about airport restrictions. Get to your destination sooner without limitations.
