What is the Stratos Jets Approved Vendor Program?
Stratos Jet Charters has developed strong working relationships with private plane charter operators all over the world. We only recommend operators who meet the conditions of our Approved Vendor Program, ensuring the highest safety standards for every charter flight.
The Stratos Approved Vendor Program
Stratos Jets goes beyond industry standards by imposing its own set of standards on approved jet charter vendors. We focus on three key areas:
- Verifiable safety outcomes.
- A strong safety culture.
- A proactive approach to safety for both aircraft and crew.
This program ensures you fly with the most qualified and safety-focused operators in the industry.
“The restrictive covenants of our program encourage air carriers to place an emphasis on air charter safety,” Thomas said. “We’re not willing to take a chance with disreputable air carriers. We strive to protect our clients by only partnering with the best service providers in the industry.”
– Joel Thomas, President & CEO, Stratos Jet Charters Inc.
A Culture of Safety
At Stratos Jets, we believe that safety is a derivative of a company’s culture.
We seek out air carriers who make significant financial investments in taking a proactive approach to safety. They implement regular safety training, assessments, and a robust Safety Management System (SMS) program.
To ensure these carriers are compliant, we regularly interact with and monitor their sales and operations staff to confirm their dedication to safety and professionalism.
Extended Crew Requirements for Approved Jet Charter Flights
Stratos mandates that charter flights are flown with two pilots regardless of aircraft designated as single-pilot certification.
The pilot-in-command of every jet charter aircraft must have a minimum of 3,000 total flight hours and hold a prestigious Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating. Similarly, the second-in-command must have 1,000 hours of flight time and hold at least a commercial, multi-engine license with an instrument rating.
These standards go well above the minimums established by the FAA for a legal charter flight.
*Stratos will only charter flights on a turboprop or jet aircraft, and to further ensure client safety, we will not organize flights on any piston-powered aircraft.
Safety Through an Insurance Policy
Stratos Jets goes above and beyond when it comes to insurance. Our approved vendors carry more liability insurance than the industry minimum:
- $25 million minimum for turboprop aircraft
- $50 million on all other private aircraft.
These high levels of insurance can protect jet charter passengers and their families in the unlikely event of an emergency.
Third-Party Validation
Stratos Jets utilizes an ARG/US or Wyvern third-party safety audit to verify that operators comply with these standards. All air carriers who provide service for Stratos clients must participate in consideration of inclusion into our Approved Vendor Program for jets.
The Future of Safety in Private Jet Charters
The Stratos Jets Approved Vendor Program is a powerful testament to our commitment to safety, but it’s just one piece of the puzzle. As the industry evolves, so too will our standards. The recent FTC ruling banning non-compete agreements presents a unique opportunity.
More talented brokers will have the freedom to build their own brands, which will ultimately lead to a more competitive and safety-focused landscape.
With a growing number of brokers prioritizing safety alongside Stratos Jets, flyers can expect even more rigorous standards to become the norm. This means more peace of mind for you and a continued focus on putting safety first for every private jet charter flight.
