Delaware Destinations
Delaware claims to pack more pleasures per mile than any other state, and because of its small size, you’re only a few hours drive from any of its destinations.
Things to Do in Delaware
One of Delaware’s most visited attractions is the famous DuPont Mansions. Located northwest of Wilmington in the stately Chateau Country, The DuPont mansions consist of three mansions, each with their own distinct personality and charm. Nemours Mansions boasts 102 rooms, with 18thth Century French furniture and a formal French garden. Winterthur Museum and Library has 60 acres of naturalistic gardens including the magical Enchanted Woods. Hagley Museum and Library is where the DuPont story began. The original DuPont family home still stands perched on the banks of the river.
While on your trip to Delaware, you’ll also want to plan time to explore the unique geography of the area. From rolling hills and wooded parks to the beautiful beaches and waterways. One of the best ways to explore the region is by following Delaware’s Outdoor Trail system. There are over 60 activities to participate in at more than 40 statewide locations. Just some of the things to do along the trail include walking, hiking, biking, wildlife viewing and water activities.
Delaware is proud of the fact it’s a tax-free shopping destination. You can enjoy tax-free savings whether you choose to shop at a big Brand Name Outlet mall, a local shopping center, a trendy boutique or quaint antique stores. And when you’re hungry Delaware is a seafood lover’s delight with a multitude of restaurants specializing state seafood staples like crab, clams, rockfish and more.
