Saab 2000 Charter Flight Information
If you need a group charter aircraft that offers the speed of a jet and the economy of a turboprop, then the Saab 2000 might just be what you’re looking for. With seating capacity for 50 passengers and 423 cubic feet of storage, this regional commuter airliner offers tremendous value for short- to medium-range flights. Its cruising speed of 424 mph at 31,000 feet gives it the range ability of about 1,200 nautical miles. And with a cabin width of 7.1 feet and length of 54.9 feet, it’s ideal for group travel. There’s also an enclosed lavatory for added convenience. To create the Saab 2000, the Swedish-based manufacturer took its already-successful Saab 340—and 34-passenger aircraft—and stretched the fuselage. Production began in 1992 (it was certified two years later), and after a seven-year run, the company had built more than 60 of them. As a result of the increased fuselage length, Saab had to make other alterations:
- Increasing the wing span
- Outfitting it with more powerful Rolls-Royce AE 2100 engines (4,591 shp)
To provide a quieter cabin environment, Saab mounted the Rolls-Royce (formerly Allison) turboprops further from the fuselage.
Fast Group Charter Travel
Due to its ability to cover 1,000 nm in about three hours, the Saab 2000 is a terrific option for busy business travelers. Simply put, it gets large groups of people where they need to go, with no fuss. The aircraft is also a relatively quick climber, reaching 20,000 feet in just 10 minutes. This is comparable to some larger jets. Its maximum service ceiling is 31,000 feet. Another advantage of the Saab 2000 is its short runway performance. With a required field length of just less than 4,000 feet, it can access many smaller regional airports. This is ideal for businesses that are either headquartered in, or frequently travel to:
- Remote areas
- Smaller centers
Today, the Saab 2000 operates in 34 countries around the world, including the United States. If this is an aircraft that you’d be interested in for a group charter flight, contact one of our air charter associates at Stratos Jets.
We Help You Find the Perfect Match
When planning a charter flight, it’s important to understand the performance capabilities of the aircraft you’re considering. Our charter agents will recommend a range of aircraft that:
- Are suitable for your mission parameters
- Provide the most competitive jet charter prices
- Feature the inflight amenities you require
Additionally, we are fully committed to providing our clients with the safest charter flights possible. If we were to recommend a Saab 2000 charter plane, we would first do our due diligence to ensure that the:
- Charter operator has a proven safety record
- Aircraft has been properly maintained
- Aircraft is flown by two highly trained pilots
And for every Saab 2000 charter flight that we organize, we require a third-party safety audit to be conducted on it. As a group charter aircraft—one that carries more than 19 passengers—we would also require the operator to hold valid FAA Part 121/380 certification. Should you require any concierge services for your travels, the Stratos Jets Trip Support department will be happy to assist you. We do everything from arranging private ground transit to booking hotel rooms. All you have to do is ask.
