Early trappers to the area in Colorado heard a “chugging sound,” and they thought they heard a steamboat coming up the river. When they went to investigate, they discovered that the sound they heard was actually coming from natural hot springs. Because of this, they decided to call this place Steamboat Springs. Rivers, mountains and beautiful wild terrain welcome visitors year round; however, Steamboat Springs is internationally renowned for its Rocky Mountains and skiing resorts. For a long time, because the winters were severe, skiing was the only mode of transportation through the Rockies. It stands to reason that the town developed around winter activities, eventually becoming home to Steamboat Ski Resort and the Howelsen Hill Ski area. While winter temperatures average around 2 degrees Fahrenheit, summer highs in the 80s are lovely for hiking and cycling through some of the world’s most beautiful outdoor landscapes and rafting rapids through breathtaking valleys. The towns’ nearly 13,000 inhabitants will agree that they are spoiled with all the natural beauty.

Stratos helped us make an amazing memory … I flew my elderly parents (90+ years old) from SC to PA for the day to spend time with our entire family. We decided at the last minute to escape from Florida as hurricane Irma was bearing down on us, and Stratos came through for us. Despite our first choice airport running out of fuel, they managed to get some at another and we got out with about 1 hour to spare. It was a hectic time, with everyone else scrambling to escape, but Stratos made the whole experience simple and efficient for us. We will definitely fly with them another time, preferable when we're not all stressed about a hurricane aimed right at us!

Everything was great. Prompt and clear comms about flight / craft options. Kept us informed about key status. Nice account website and live-links for details. And, just friendly and pleasant people to work with. One big thing was that our original operator's plane cancelled due to mechanical the day before our departure. We know that happens sometimes and not Stratos' fault. What was great was how quickly the Stratos team got us viable alternatives. Within probably an hour we had an alternate operator confirmed. We were very pleased how well Stratos reacted. And, the replacement craft and crew were top-notch as well.

We did have a slight issue when the plane came in there was a mechanical concern that delayed my parent's trip but Kyle lined up aother plane for us so they could get to their destination with the least amount of inconvenience.
